Perhaps this is a code word for something important, or simply the name of the person who wrote one of the inscriptions. The composition evokes a sense of mystery, and the slit on the boot adds even more mystery. All these elements create the impression that the shield hides some important secret, which can possibly be revealed only with the help of the key to the lock
