Maxym Palenko was born in a village in the Dnipropetrovsk region and studied at the Art School and the Academy of Printing majoring in book design. Now he lives and works in Dnipro and Lviv and is a well-known book graphic artist, illustrator, animator, and concept artist.
Books with Maksym's illustrations have repeatedly won the BBC Book of the Year, Litakcent award, and even the Shevchenko National Prize — the biggest one in Ukraine. In 2012, Maxym became one of the top five Ukrainian illustrators according to the rating of Robert Bosch Stiftung.
